It's been a crazy week to start off the new year. We've been to Seattle, Isaac checked out as doing wonderful, we're doing a wonderful job and we need to buy copious amounts of sunscreen because even when it's "just bright out" he needs sunscreen to help keep from scarring. We do have to go back in two weeks.
For last week and a half, our water situation has been a pisser. It's on between 2-5 hours a day. Will go off with no warning. It's very frustrating. Doing laundry for family of five is nearly impossible on that, especially since there's no notice that the water's on. So, when we got back from Seattle, we just stayed at our inlaws until last night.
On top of all of this, I started another short based on Rebellion on Piza seven as the world and it's stuff will fit in for another site. I've also added word count to a novel for Splintered Lands. Had to erase a bunch cuz I killed off a character that can't show up in later chapters now. I've also finished my "pre-edits" for Ulfric's Mate and sent them off. Filed out the cover art form for same MS, and sent it to the art director. All in the last week and a half. There's more, but, yanno, I can't remember everything LOL
We ordered internet today, so starting on Tuesday, we should have consistent internet. I'm so excited! The boys can do more of their school work online, I can get better teaching aides, writing research etc. Plus, my boys are excited about xbox live LMAO goofy kids. :D
Anyways, things are looking up, but if ya want to buy a painting from me, now would be a good time as we're really not set up for three trips to Seattle in less than a month. :) Thanks to work for an anthology, I'm not going to freak about the money any more, but would like to have more than just enough for gas and a pop :P But if not, I'm happy that we were able to go at all.
How exciting has your new year been? I hope things are going well for you all :D I'm looking forward to a MUCH better year than the last!

I wrote a bloooooggg :P
Looks like I'll be getting some sleep after posting this :D My new site is up and running and starting one day this week, I'll be posting blogs over there as well as here. Not the same blog, mind you, although they'll most likely be related somehow. My mind wanders where it will and that's what I'll write about. The blogs I try to force are the ones that come out as the most unintersting.
I have so much writing on the horizon that I'm doubly glad I got over the stress blockers! I have so much to do!
Which reminds me, I have a serial to polish and send off! Now I have to remember what my CP tweeted me about it...only something minor so no biggie. he he.
My brain should feel fried. You know how hard I worked on editing today? hard! but it was worth it! IN the course of my writing career, I've gone from too much back story to not enough details except when I like to throw the double adjectives in :D Mostly, it can work in the thriller genre, but I also write fantasy. It will NOT work there. I'll have to work on it.
I'm thinking that before I had to put my life on pause during my daughter's recent illness, I'd thought of having a special day of the week dedicated to writing mechanics. Is there enough to fill a day aweek? possible. I shall try :D
For now, I'm going to go get that sleep I'm craving! You think about back story and exposition because I do believer that's what we're going to tackle first in a very open forum! I'll also have the grand opening of my website very soon!! Stay tuned for details!b

Wednesday
Wednesday is here :) I took yesterday off. I snuck in a little tiny bit of writing but, not any word count to speak of. I'm back at it today.
Well, working around Homeschooling schedule. Homeschooling is looking to be a bigger pain to get started. Flipping bureaucratic BS. I can't wait until it's finished. In the meantime, kids are truant. My kids are so stressed at school, they have asthma attacks nearly every morning and my 9 yo was throwing up nearly every morning. So they missed 1-3 days every week. It's not a viable option to try and keep them at the school until all the BS paperwork is finished. So lots of issues there.
But good news is my kids have quite having asthma attacks (not a single one since Jan 10th when I told them I'd homeschool. And the only time my 9 yo has thrown up was while taking medicine with a fever. Yeah. NO. My kids aren't going back. That is way off the scale to be coincidence. In the meantime, I get to fight the damn system and do my own stuff working from where their teachers left off.
As to my writing, I'm actually getting more sleep, the editing process whisked out and I sent the previously mentioned Manuscript to beta readers, male and female, and am rocking through the new one.
My boys have to start each day journaling. Three days writing, one day drawing. It's been very cool. My 9 yo has decided he wants to write a story and asked for more writing time :) I like to think it's my good influence!
My writing and creativity is flowing and I can't wait to write again whenever I'm away from the computer. I was at a friend's house and had to bite my tongue more than once not to beg him to download dropbox so I could work on it :)
Hope your mid-week is going better than #zombiesurvivalcrew member @RCMurphy's is... If you know her, go give her hugs...

Gal Friday Noir
That's the working title of the new series I've started. I still don't even have a working title for this story! But it has to be written! 2500 words already, despite kids and auditions! Good start for how raw it is. I love it when this happens... Although, I'm not sure it's ever happened exactly like this before with me.
The closest I usually have is when I have dreams that stick with me and stories grow out of them. This time, it was some dark days, and I created an alter-ego to deal with it...This darkness translated inot an awesome story. I love being a writer!

For now. Until my beta readers get done red lining it and kill it. Then I shall bring it back to life. :D
But now, I'm starting a brand new dark shiny. I can hardly stand it, but I'm having trouble figuring out where to start. I have a whole series in my head and my brain is over full with ideas! what to do first? what to show first? how to show it?? AAAAAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAA LOL It's awesome and one of my favortie parts of writing!
This is a dark female paranormal noir. Yep, I know. totally different. totally awesome. Wait until you see...

bits & pieces
Here's the opening to new paranormal I started. What do you think?
His black fur rippled in the wind, gleaming under the blue rays of the full moon. He lifted his nose in the air, sniffing for hunters. Getting caught in wolf form was not on his list of things to do before he died. In fact, being caged might kill him.
He put his nose down to the ground. He had her scent. At first, she had been hard to follow, but her scent had grown stronger the deeper into the evergreens they were. As soon as he realized it, he slowed down his hunt. His instincts told him it was a trap. He still had to track her down. She had killed three pregnant women in his pack.
Here's an excerpt from the thriller Winds of Fire:
"Who would want to hurt either them or Eagle Claw? Perhaps they, whoever ‘they’ are, are trying to bring down all of us." Definitely something she planned to look at more closely. "I don’t like this." She repeated.
"Don’t like what?" a male voice intoned.
Victoria whirled around at the sound of his voice and was unprepared for his impact on her. She felt like someone punched her in the gut. It was Mario da Vinci. The one who got away. He had lost much of his accent, but none of his deep timbre. His golden brown eyes were harder than she remembered, and his short-cropped hair had grown out long enough for his natural wave to be noticeable and for the wind to have ruffled it out of place.
Not now, she thought. Out loud she said, "What are you doing here?"
"Hello to you too, Victoria. See you haven’t lost any of your cold shoulder since we last talked." His brown eyes were laughing, although the edge in his voice belied the joke.
Feel free to comment on likes/dislikes and any and all grammatical errors you might find. I'm seeking perfection. Haven't hit it yet.

Missing Pages
So I found some of my missing pages. Still missing the all crucial initial meeting between my hero and heroine. :( oh well, I can continue from here and hope to find them soon...
I will also be participating in script frenzy... Call me crazy, LOL. Winds of fire needs less back story and more dialogue and an ending. How better to do that than turn it into a script to fix those errors. Major problem is the format. I'm not familiar with the format. Even though I have a base story to work from (at least thats my plan, I may change it, like I did for NaNoWriMO) I still have to learn how to do it right.
Mainly, this will give me the writing time I need and get back into the habit. I had good habits going because of NaNoWriMo, but then we moved and I didn't have internet and got stuck on all my stories for lack of easy research.
With our schedule, sick kids and a 17 month old, easy research is a must! lol
I need to get two stories out for a publisher, though, so I may have to use script frenzy for that. Hmmm, so many choices! Well, off to do my rituals that I had before and write, write, write. :D

new idea :)
I was reading contests etc., as I usually do, and all of the sudden, I had an idea for a new story/series :) I love it when that happens. I never thought I would be stalled with so many eggs in my basket, but I was. I can only research for so long, you know before my creative side wants a turn. Research definitely does not use the creative side of my brain. Maybe it should, IDK, but it makes me feel slow and sluggish.
It's going to be an attempt at a comedy, but, at this point in time, that is not my strong suit. I will give it the old college try :P
I have like 2 months before I'm likely to hear back on the resubmit, but I anxiously check my mail ten times a day as if I can hurry the process along by keeping my mailbox cleaned out. I so need to laugh at myself. Maybe I'll hear back sooner and really laugh at myself. who knows.
Making a stove top casserole for dinner as I have work at OLLU thiry auditorium tonight. I'm working a pageant with young skinny girls. I need to learn to laugh at myself soon as I am not skinny or young :( I wish I wasn't as big as I am, but I sure don't want to be model thin though, so I'll keep that in mind tonight.
