Gini and Solace

Today I have a special guest :D Please join me in welcoming the author of Solace, Gini Rifkin!!

Solace

Fae

Warriors Book 1

Gini Rifkin

Sexy Sci/Fi

Fantasy Romance

The Wild

Rose Press/248 pages

Can a six-foot-tall female Fae

Warrior from another realm, and a hunky ready for action ex-Army Ranger save

the earth from invasion?

Solace Goodeve, one of Mother

Nature’s favorite Fae Warriors, is assigned to Earth to help save the planet.

Reptile invaders, disguising themselves as humans, are waging a takeover—and

Mother is mad enough to eat asteroids. Solace is ready to prove herself as a

warrior, but having a human for a partner is not in her battle plan—even if the

man is rugged, ripped, and ready for action.

Army Ranger, Tanner Jackson, has seen his share of black op missions. The last

one took a toll on both body and soul. Tanner isn’t looking for love, even

though his new partner is six-foot-tall and drop dead gorgeous. However, after

Solace shows him a new meaning to working undercover, he may have to reconsider

that possibility.

As the Reps plan to sabotage NOAA, Tanner and Solace must learn to trust one

another. But as they're trying to save the world, Solace and Tanner might just

lose their hearts—and that takes the most courage of all.

Excerpt:

There must

be some mistake. The man striding toward her couldn’t be Tanner Jackson.

Dressed in a black t-shirt, camo cargo pants, and rugged lace up boots, he

looked ready for a special ops mission, not a day of wrestling with figures and

scientific data. Tall and well-muscled, he appeared rock solid, like he

belonged in the age of Athena. In fact, he seemed so overwhelmingly masculine,

she worried he might not be human. That gave her pause. Had the Reps already

established a man on the inside?

About the Author:

Greetings...I

live in beautiful Colorado with my chaotic herd of abandoned farm animals. My

friends and family keep me sane, and writing keeps me hungry to learn new

things even as I research times gone by.

When you

open a book and turn the pages, you breathe life into the characters and set

them free. My stories are adventurous romance, past, present, and into the

future, sometimes with a bit of magic or fantasy, but always with a happy

ending.

Sheri Velarde new release

Well, guess what? Sheri and I, teaming up so many times, have now done it again. Our books are coming out in February. I asked her to write about Vampires as my anthology coming out just before Valentine's also includes Vampires. Her and I share a deep love for vampires and many lores. This is a fun story. I hope you pick up her story!

Vampires. What makes them so fascinating? Why are they always popular in fiction? Personally, I think that it is the promise of youth, health and immortality. Plus nowadays they’re dead sexy! The days of Nosferatu are gone, welcome Damon Salvatore instead. In our culture everyone seems to want to stay looking young, well I guess vampirism is one way to do it. Now I can only speak for myself here, but as someone who has and is still battling major illnesses, the promise of being young and healthy forever has a great appeal. If I drank the blood of a vampire I would be cured? Sign me up. I can deal with the lack of sun and drinking blood to feel healthy and powerful any day.

There is also the promise of eternal love that goes along with eternal life. If you have found the love of your life, wouldn’t you want to spend eternity with them? Especially as mentioned before if they are gorgeous and sexy as hell? Yes please! Imagine being about to travel the world forever with your one true love. Never fearing being separated? Sounds pretty appealing right?

I don’t think vampires are ever going to go out of style. The mythos of them is as eternal as they are. Sure, they seem to change over time. They were once monsters to be feared, now they are creatures to be desired, or at least mine are ;)

Lust, Sex and Tattoos Sheri Velarde

Hello hello hello! It's been awhile, but I'm here! :D My wonderful, amazing friend is here again :D You'll probably think she's sort of a favorite...well, you'd be right! She is amazing!! I have long admired her grit and determination, and no more so than now. She's re-releasing  some from publishers that have now left us, and I, for one, is very thankful! So, if you've been missing some of your favorites, be happy, cuz she's bringing them all back :D:D:D:D:D:D

Lust, Sex and Tattoos

Being an author is a scary profession. It is a world fill with uncertainty and challenges that you do not find at a day job. You work alone, no coworkers to help lighten the mood or chat with. Well I do count my dogs as my coworkers and bounce ideas off of them. Shockingly they are not very helpful. You often work hundreds of hours with no guarantee of publication acceptance. Even if you are accepted the number of authors who actually make a living from their writing is very, very small. So why do authors put themselves through hours of what sometimes can seem like torture? Well because they can’t not write. We have stories inside of us that drive us crazy until they make their way to paper. Being a writer is something that you just are. Like someone who loves pizza but is allergic to shellfish. It’s part of you.

Believe it or not, the writing is actually the easy part of being an author. The business side of writing them takes over. Once your baby is written now it is time for the editing to begin. First you go through and edit yourself, you will be amazed at what you find during these self-edits. This gives you a chance to polish the story and try to find as many grammar errors as possible. You will get better each time you edit, so don’t worry if it is a mess the first time around. After however many rounds of self-edits it’s either off for submission or off to an editor (if you are self-publishing). If accepted it’s off to an editor anyways. There you usually have three rounds of edits and then line edits to check for stuff like commas and grammar, then a proofread. In the meantime you either need to be giving input into a cover or making one. (The cover for Lust, Sex and Tattoos is the very first cover that I made myself!) You need to be getting a blurb and excerpt ready, you need to be coming up with a marketing plan.

Once your story is ready for publication, then you start marketing. Guest blogs, takeovers on FB and other sites, composing tweets, getting info on your own blog, getting sites to list your book, trying to get reviews. The list is endless and ever going. People have short attention spans these days, you need to somehow get them to notice your book. In the meantime you will also be writing your next book, so the cycle begins again.

Short Blurb:

Karen is a woman looking to make a new beginning after breaking away from an abusive past. Her first stop is a tattoo shop, to show herself that she is no longer afraid to live her life the way she sees fit and to mark her freedom with a permanent reminder to never go back. When she catches sight of her tattoo artist, Ben, well she suddenly has things other than ink on her mind. Ben is wild, free and uninhibited, everything that she wants to be and more. Soon she is left alone with the man that embodies her dreams and sparks begin to fly. It's safe to say that she gets way more than she bargained for when she originally stepped into his shop, as Ben helps her unleash her wild child and truly begin her life again. One wild night can truly change a woman forever.

Short Excerpt:

With measured steps to try to hide her nerves, Karen followed him through the curtains and down a hall lined with tattooing rooms. She could hear the needles more clearly now and for a moment she thought of running from the shop just to escape that unnerving sound. Taking a deep breath, she continued on, knowing she could, and would do this, to prove something to herself if nothing else. Ben's tattoo room was in the very back and away from the others who were working. She stepped in and he closed the door behind them. She was completely alone with the most alluring man she had ever met. She gulped. This was definitely going to be an interesting night.

Ben motioned for her to take a seat on the tattoo chair as he sat down on a rolling stool. "Hop on up and take your shirt off for me and lay on your side, facing me."

Not So Silent Night

I am proud to present a cover reveal (though if you are on the ball, you may have seen it yesterday :P) for Sheri Velarde's Not So Silent Night.

It's a gorgeous story that she's upgraded from hot and good to sizzling and great! New edits, new cover, and voila! A tale to warm you at Christmas and beyond! She's done all this fighting major health issues and doing Nano! I'm impressed at how good of a job she has done! Be ready! Time to start your Christmas buying is at hand!

Without further ado, I give you her delicious cover done by the ever wonderful cover artist, Victoria Miller, as well as a few words from Sheri herself. Watch her blog (and likely here lol) for buy links!

Not So Silent Night is a very special story to me for numerous reasons. It was one of my most successful releases with Breathless Press and one of my favorite to write. Now it is about to become my first self-published book as I ready it for re-release this holiday season under my real name! It has been re-edited with some new bits added to make the story even better, but still retains the steaminess from before!
The world of self-publishing is a little scary for me, but exciting at the same time! As I have had two small publishers close on me this year, I just feel that this gives me a safety net to my career and allows me more freedom as well. The world of publishing is forever changing, and I am learning to go with the flow in order to keep up! I can’t think of a better way to embark on my new adventure than with Not So Silent Night, which will be out November 25th, and with the beautiful cover from artist Victoria Miller!

Allison Merritt Tell Cover Reveal

A fellow author of mine at Three Worlds Press is having a release in March. Today is cover reveal day :D Please give her a warm welcome! And perhaps go snag books 2 and 3 while you're waiting!

Welcome, Allison Merritt and kudos on your cover!

Tell (The Heckmasters, Book 3)

Author: Allison Merritt

ISBN13: 9781619233010

Length: 70k

Release date: March 8, 2016

Half demon, all male...one woman strong enough to love him.

Knowing the day will come when his demon blood will overcome his humanity, Tell Heckmaster has been searching for a miracle. Something, "anything," to counteract the spell. So far, he's come up empty.

Just as the town of Berner has finally found peace, Tell's worst fears manifest. Strange, new powers are tearing at his finely honed control. Putting everyone-including the pretty seamstress he's kept at arm's length-in terrible danger.

Sylvie Duke has everything she needs. Everything except Tell, who doesn't seem to own a lick of sense. His resistance only strengthens her resolve to stay by his side, driven by a nameless inner knowing that without her, all will be lost.

Reluctantly, Tell is forced to admit that the closer he is to Sylvie, the better he's able to quell his demon. But when a cryptic warning from an old ally tips the balance, nothing-not even love-may be strong enough to protect Berner from the raging fires of hell.

Warning: Contains a woman who can handle a hatchet with as much skill as a needle, and a man whose touch can transport her to heaven. Or hell. Accidentally, of course. Readers may wish to invest in an asbestos suit. Potholders just aren't going to cut it.

About the Author:

A love of reading inspired Allison Merritt to pursue her dream of becoming an author who writes historical, paranormal, contemporary, and fantasy romances, often combining the sub-genres. She lives in a small town in the Ozark Mountains with her husband and dogs. It's not unusual to find her lurking in graveyards, wandering historical sites, or listening to ghost stories.

Allison graduated from College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri with a B.A. in mass communications that's gathering dust after it was determined that she's better at writing fluff than hard news.
