Crazy crazy week :) My first blog tour (shared with the other Breathless Press new releases) and it's crazy crazy :) I also had an interview, a review, and lots of people who bought my book. I'm obsessed over numbers :P Trying to write, even had this awesome dream last night which I'd better write down. Okay, I wrote down a bit, but can't remember it all. Damn it.
We made our last payment on an OLD motorhome. It died when we turned into Safeway less than block away. Probably needs new battery. Then as I followed him home AFTER picking up all the groceries for camping, I saw that the tail light was out. So, instead of camping this weekend, I'm going to be doing laundry and pouting.
I did get line item edits last night for the book due out in November (yeah, we're on this one!) last night, and I had to write new scene (which I did) which then means I have to subtely alter the next scene (which I haven't) and then do all the other suggested changes. Sigh. LOL good thing I love editing. (well, I love the results of editing...)
I did managed to get over 1k words last night. It used to not be such a chore. I think the heat is really getting to me this year. But I'm plugging along :) Also, the marketing/networking takes up a lot of time that I'm not used to. I thought I was spending loads of time before...with a new release it's crazy.
And, my eleven year old, who's been gone to grandma's most of the week is being crappy about helping out with chores. Making me crazy. He hates doing dishes...well don't we all LOL And he's hardly done any this week! Like one sinkful. Sigh. I have to do the laundry the next few days because I have to sort out towels, sheets, etc that need to go in our camper and I'm putting away the dishes because I'm doing the same thing with them. Some things will be going in the camper. Then I have to make a list of things we need to buy.
These days, folks, were suppposed to be my get away to the cooler mountains and write while the kids play in the creek. I'm not in a good mood. It's a very good thing there is caffeine in the house. *searches for it* Ahhhh. Now, maybe, I'll get things done.
What are you doing this weekend?
The long road to publishing and the adventures of being a full time mom while on the way :) *and beyond! :)

Happy Christmas!!
So, how have you all been these past few weeks? I've been up and down. But last night about this time I was screaming for joy :D I had a small press offer me a contract on a submission I'd sent them. For those who follow my blog, this is the story that was originally 12k+ that I had turned in. I got a detailed rejection that I understood to mean, fix and resend (probably cuz that's pretty much what it said! ;) and so I got to work.
The notice came at the tail end of my daughter's brain surgery recovery, and I had to put it off a bit. But I was able to finish the rough draft by mid June (looking at my blogs/FB messages) sent it off to critique partner, who got it back to me about a week after I got a job. Figures, right?
Anyway, I finished it up, finally, adding a few scenes, etc., ending up over 55k+ on the word count before sending it off. Well, they liked the changes and I'm now dizzy with relief and excitement. I'd been going through one of those writing funks that makes me doubt, for a moment, my ability to write. It lasted for a week. One of my longest ever! Needless to say, the offer brought me straight out of it :D
I'm ready to tackle the other half of my Fantasy story for Splintered lands, or maybe write up a couple shorts, or maybe all of the above :) Have to get it done! lol I know I can do it, and my belief in myself is back, which is what I need to get things accomplished in a timely manner!
Happy Christmas to me! lol And to all of you, may everyone have a dream come true!

Saturday sitcom
Ever have one of those days? Oh yeah. I just did. LOL First thing this morning I was woken up by my cat attempting to turn the knob on my bedroom door. I kid you not. He has a perch to do this from. He get's it turned half-way before being beat by the lack of opposable thumbs.
I sleepily get up and ask my husband if he'd let the cat in last night. No answer. I go check to see if window/door open somewhere and find a hole in our back door's window. A shirt was hanging out it. Not big enough for a cat mind you, but I'm a little peturbed. Then, I can't find my phone. I go to pick up my husbands phone to call it and saw a message that was disturbing so dealt with that.
So, after very little sleep, the adrenalin rush had me up and at 'em at 6 am. I finally fell asleep at my computer writing about kick ass zombie killer and the human like zombies. Not surprising I had another nightmare. I was driving my wrecked van at night and was on the run from something, and in the nature of dreams, my whole steering column disappeared and I was supposed to be driving by a half-circle screw that I couldn't grip.
I woke up at my computer desk, but the screen had gone to sleep so it was black. My mind kept looking for the steering wheel and now the lost screw. I finally was able to bring my mind back to reality and went back to bed.
Next time I woke up, the baby was up and had wanted to play. Fine. So I go looking everywhere for my phone again. No luck. Husband helps. No luck. But, did find out not only was he the one who let the cat in, but he's the one who made the whole in the laundry room window. Over ten years ago. LOL I guess it had been taped before. Yeah, we'll discuss my powers of observation later.
Finally found the phone in the laundry room. I'd apparently dropped it in my surprise at finding a shirt hanging in my back door (which is the outside entrance to the laundry room) and hadn't noticed. LOL
So, I get settled in to write, afraid to look at what I'd written just prior to falling asleep (surprise surprise she was driving and flipping someone off who had cut her off. Yeah, my character has road rage :) and my daughter's text comes through. She needs her mom. So out I go again. LOL
I feel like I'm in a weird sitcom that someone has to keep writing in drama and tension to keep people watching. But also make it funny and laughable. Yeah. that's my life in a nutshell. Cheesy sitcom drama.
Somedays, I look back and laugh at some of the stuff that happens. Like the hole in the window. Not noticing when we've been living in this house for a year and seeing a shirt sticking out it? Yeah. That's going to be funny. Some other day LOL.
How about you? Do you ever feel like you're living in a book or TV show cuz everything seems so unreal or surreal? Do you look back and laugh and wonder how/why you didn't see/notice? LOL
